After that, they explain about News Item. News item is a text which informs readers about events of the day. The events are considered newsworthy or important. 

The primary goal of making sure the news text to provide information to the reader or listener to news about the latest news. So they should be warm, so the news is usually given the date and place of the news.

The linguistics feature of News Item as follows 
  • Short, telegraphicinformation about story captured in headline. Use of material processes/action verbs to retell the story or event 
  • Use of projecting verbal processes in "Source" stage. (ex: the police said. the witness thought.) 
  • Using adverb like badly injured, the most beautiful bride in the world.
  • Focus on circumstances (ex: last night, just this morning, at that time, etc)
